DTLR PRO & DTLR Lite Pressure Washer Maintenance Guide
Essential servicing tips to keep your pressure washer performing at its best
At Equip2Clean, we supply robust pressure washers built for everyday use on demanding jobs. But even reliable machines like the DTLR PRO and DTLR Lite perform best when they’re properly maintained.
This guide explains the most important checks, servicing routines, how to change pump oil, and tips for long-term storage — all written in straightforward, practical language.
Daily Checks – A Few Minutes Makes a Big Difference
Before every use:
Water Inlet Filter & Shuttle and Spring
Clean the water inlet filter regularly. Blocked filters reduce water flow and increase pump strain — a major cause of premature pump wear.

Hoses, Gun & Lance
Inspect these critical components for damage before each use:
-
Cracks or splits in hoses
-
Loose or leaking connections
-
Worn or damaged trigger gun parts
If anything looks worn or damaged, replace it before you start work.

Water Supply
Make sure your machine has a steady water supply of at least 12L/min. Insufficient flow causes cavitation, overheating and pump damage.
Correct Start-Up & Shutdown Procedure
To protect your pump and seals:
Before shutdown:
-
Turn the machine OFF
-
Squeeze the trigger to release pressure
-
Turn off the water supply
-
Disconnect power
Using Chemicals Correctly
Your DTLR machine can apply detergents in low-pressure mode, but:
-
Only use detergents designed for pressure washer use
-
Never use bleach, solvents or corrosive liquids
After detergent use, always flush thoroughly with clean water — chemical residue left inside will damage seals and is not covered under warranty.
Pump Oil – How & When to Change It
Pump oil is the lifeblood of your pressure washer. Keeping it fresh protects seals, bearings and internal parts.
Recommended Oil Change Schedule
-
First change: After 50 hours
-
Then: Every 100 hours
-
Minimum: At least once per year
Right Oil for the Job
We recommend using SAE pump oil designed for petrol and diesel pressure washers.

How to Change Pump Oil (Step-by-Step)
-
Drain the old pump oil
-
Pour ~230ml of pump flushing fluid into the crankcase
-
Run the machine with no load for 10–15 seconds
-
Switch off and drain the flushing fluid
-
Refill with fresh SAE 30 pump oil
-
Securely tighten the oil plug
Regular oil changes drastically improve pump life and prevent costly breakdowns.
Hose Health & Replacement
Pressure hoses take a beating on the job. Inspect yours for wear and tear — especially at the ends and fittings.
👉 Quality replacement hose:

Replace any hose that shows cracking, bulging or leaking immediately.
Long-Term Storage & Winter Protection
If your machine won’t be used for weeks or months:
Storage Checklist
-
Turn off water supply
-
Bleed the system to remove pressure
-
Remove hoses and store in a dry place
Winter & Freeze Protection
Store your washer in a warm, dry space.
Servicing & Support
-
Electrical and internal repairs must be done by professionals
-
Never modify safety valves or pressure settings
-
Always use correct replacement parts
If you’re unsure about a repair or maintenance task — call and ask. That’s what we’re here for.
Did You Know? Your DTLR PRO & DTLR Lite Can Draw From a Water Tank
Many customers don’t realise that both the DTLR PRO and DTLR Lite are capable of drawing water from a tank — making them ideal for mobile setups, site work, or areas without a direct mains supply.
Important setup requirements:
-
The water supply must be gravity fed
-
The machine should be positioned level with the base of the tank
-
Ensure a consistent, unrestricted flow of water to the inlet
