If you’re a window cleaner, you already have the hardest thing in any business: a round of customers who trust you. Adding gutter cleaning is one of the easiest ways to earn more from that round.
Same customer, same visit
You’re already at the house. You already know the customer. Chances are, their gutters haven’t been touched in a year or more.
Offering to clear the gutters while you’re there is a natural upsell. There’s no extra travel, no cold calling and no new customers to win. You’re simply doing more for the people you already serve.
No extra travel, no cold calling, no new customers to win. Just more work from the round you already have.
Different kit, same job site
It’s worth being clear: window cleaning and gutter cleaning use completely different pole attachments. Your water-fed pole won’t clear a gutter, and a gutter vacuum pole won’t clean glass.
The crossover isn’t the kit. It’s the customer and the location. You’re already there, so you may as well do the gutters too.
Perfect timing
Autumn is peak season for gutter cleaning, just as window cleaning rounds often slow down with shorter days and worse weather. Gutter work fills that gap nicely, bringing in extra income in October and November.
Getting set up
To add gutter cleaning, you’ll need:
- a gutter vacuum machine with enough suction for professional use
- gutter cleaning poles long enough for the homes on your round
- a set of gutter tools for different types of debris
For most window cleaners, a two motor machine is a sensible starting point. If you’re also cleaning commercial sites, look at our heavy duty models.
Safety carries over
You’ll already know to look up for overhead cables. Our gutter poles have Kevlar bottom sections, which are non-conductive, just like the Kevlar lower sections on our window cleaning poles.
Start this season
We deliver gutter cleaning machines and poles next day across the UK, so you can add the service to your round this autumn.
